Governor-elect Wolf Announces Choices For General Counsel And State

York, PA - Governor-elect Tom Wolf today announced that Denise Smyler will lead his Office of General Counsel. Wolf also announced his selection of Pedro Cortés, the former and longest serving secretary of state in Pennsylvania history, to head the Department of State.

"Denise has a long record of excellence and experience working with multiple levels of government, and Pedro vastly improved operations at the Department of State during his previous tenure. Governor-elect Wolf Announces Cabinet Selections

York, PA - Governor-elect Tom Wolf today announced his cabinet selections for the Department of Community and Economic Development and the Department of Revenue. The governor-elect has chosen Dennis M. Davin, director of Allegheny County Economic Development, to serve as secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development and Eileen H. McNulty, the former secretary of the Department of Revenue and former quality assurance director in the Office of Comptroller Operations in the Office of the Budget, to serve as secretary of the Department of Revenue. Governor-Elect Wolf Names Budget Deficit and Fiscal Stabilization Task Force

YORK, PA - Governor-elect Tom Wolf today named his full Budget Deficit and Fiscal Stabilization Task Force, which will work to address the looming budget deficit. The Task Force will be led by Mary Soderberg and Montgomery County Commission Chairman Josh Shapiro. Earlier this month, the Independent Fiscal Office found that Pennsylvania is facing a multi-billion dollar budget deficit. This news is only the beginning of what we will learn about the structural budget problems left by the current Administration. In addition to the projected budget deficit, Governor-elect Wolf will enter office amid cash flow projections that indicate the state will be cash flow negative from January through March. Read more

Pennsylvania newspapers agree: Governor-elect Tom Wolf off to a strong start on ethics reform

On day one in office, Governor-elect Tom Wolf will sign an executive order banning executive branch employees from accepting any gifts. Wolf is also requiring members of his transition team to sign a Code of Ethical Conduct that forbids them from accepting gifts.
